Back home...

The last leg of the journey was a trip down memory lane for me to the West Coast of South Australia and the Flinders Ranges. I grew up in a town called Haslam which then had 60 people and by the looks of things doesn't have many more today - although it does now have bitumen road which is a bit posh!

We dropped in on my old school (Miltaburra) and were introduced to all the kids, teachers that I had were still there and were very welcoming - it looked just the same, although smaller than I remembered! I got to meet my peers children who now attend the local kindy - which was a bit strange!

We met my parents in Hawker and headed into Brachina Gorge in the Flinders Ranges for our last few days. Tille offloaded our gear and me into my parents 4WD and enjoyed the dirt roads in the national park. Mum and Dad brought wine, beer, great food and extra blankets which were a treat as the nights were getting a bit cold in our little tent. We celebrated my 30th birthday there - champagne and a fire, what more could a girl want!?

The last ride was through the Clare Valley and up over the Adelaide Hills - it was a LOT greener than when we left and felt good to be coming home.

So that's it - the route around Australia changed a little but we made it, had a ball and would love to do it all again.. Next challenge though - Germany..
