RAIN!!!!!

We have not seen rain like this since the monsoon season in India. We are still in El Kef but hope that we can trust the forecast which says the rain will slow tomorrow. Attached is a video to give an idea of the rain we are experiencing, sorry that it is side-ways! Yesterday we went to the local museum (which was brilliant) and the museum guide said 'you are welcome to look through but we are having some trouble with the rain' and sure enough, the exhibits were a little wet - as were the electricity cables for the lights! We followed our museum trip with a warm chocolate croissant and coffee in the local cafe where it became clear on visiting the toilets (where it was also raining) that the locals are also not used to such weather!

Crossed fingers the bike starts tomorrow after being drenched for two days straight and that we make it out of the mountains and to the desert - where surely it can not rain - right???

Tille and Ainslie,

What a great adventure this is already. Your comments and photos are marvellous, reflecting how fascinating the places you are visiting are. Enjoy the rain while it lasts as I am sure you have plenty of dry times ahead of you. We think of you often. Keep smiling! Love,

Dixie.

Just caught up with the blog and pics - they're wonderful - the Tunisian countryside reminds us a little of Rawnsley's Bluff (no Roman ruins, or rain, but lots of flies there!). Exactly year since we were there with you. What's Tunisian food like??

Thanks for your comments. Spent today riding between a huge salt lake and the edge of the sahara. Best day yet!!! Tille and Ains xx
